Recently I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of two men who said yes to each other at Terworm Castle in Heerlen. Their love shone like a bright star on that sunny summer day.

A Beautiful Location: Terworm Castle

Let's start with the venue, Terworm Castle. The castle is a fairytale place to get married, with beautiful gardens and an old building from the 14th century. It is a romantic place where dreams come true. For these two men, it was the perfect place for their love story.

This wedding was more than just a celebration of love; it was a celebration of progress and change. It showed that as a society we have come a long way in accepting and celebrating all forms of love. I felt the excitement and positive energy in the air on this special day.

The day began with the usual flurry of preparations. The groomsmen, helped by their closest friends, got ready. Their faces were beaming with joy and a bit of nerves, which is normal on such a day.

I took pictures of their clothes and accessories, which looked very stylish. Everything was carefully chosen and fit perfectly with who they were as individuals and as a couple. You could tell that they had paid great attention to every detail.

The first meeting moment

One of the most touching moments of any wedding is the first meeting. These groomsmen chose to see each other before the ceremony, which was extra special.

When they first saw each other in the castle courtyard, they were beaming with happiness. The sun was shining brightly and it was a warm embrace. They looked at each other with love and embraced each other tenderly. It was a beautiful moment that I loved to photograph.

The ceremony

The ceremony took place in the beautiful garden, The Orangery, of the castle, surrounded by friends and family. The atmosphere was intimate and loving. A highlight was when the grooms read personal vows to each other. Their words were full of love and promises for the future. Everyone was touched by their beautiful words.
