IN 2025 NEW: GROUP COURSE

Whichever photography course you choose, you will get truly beautiful pictures after this photography course as well as maximum attention to your personal needs.
In 2025 we will also start a group course in theory and practice
PRIVATE COURSE IN PHOTOGRAPHY
For many years I have offered this private photography course. Many laudatory five-star reviews on Google (see bottom of page). Maximum attention to your own needs.
Nice expensive camera takes beautiful pictures?
"What a nice expensive camera, it must take beautiful pictures!" Have you ever heard that? Although well-intentioned, this statement is of course not entirely accurate.
As the photographer, you are the one who decides everything: the subject, the settings, the composition, not to mention the perfect moment to print. Give someone without any photography knowledge the most expensive or best camera, and the chances of them taking a top-notch photo right away are slim. So it's your creativity and skills that make the difference. And you will learn those with me on this photography course!

Photograph smarter!
The idea that you can only take really good pictures if you shoot in M mode is a common statement. And scares away the novice photographer! The M mode, or manual mode, gives you full control over your camera's settings, such as aperture and shutter speed. In addition to fully automatic mode, you also have semi-automatic modes, such as aperture priority (my preference) and shutter speed priority. In these modes, the camera takes over some of the work. For example, if you choose the aperture yourself, the camera automatically chooses the right shutter speed, and vice versa.
Many photographers strive to shoot in manual mode or full automatic mode, because this is considered the "real" way to shoot. But what is often overlooked is that sometimes you have to react quickly to changing conditions. In manual mode, this can be difficult, leading to under- or over-exposure.
If you choose semi-automatic mode, it does not mean that you are a less good or lazy photographer. On the contrary, you could say that you are precisely smarter works. Because the camera takes some of the work off your hands, you only have to check and intervene where necessary. This gives you more space to focus on other important aspects of photography, such as composition or interaction with your subject. This can even make your photo end up being better than if you were to set everything manually.
Why take a private photography course or group course?
Why should you take a private/group photography course? Everything can be found on the Internet, right? Yes it is! Your textbooks had everything in them too, So why did you have to go to school? Because surely there is someone to explain the story to you and where you can ask questions....!!!
It's not a course "...just set the camera to automatic....". What I do do is tell you in plain language how to set the camera with minimum actions!
Photography course: learn all about photography!
For whom.
Are you enthusiastic about photography and want to take your skills to the next level? Then this course is perfect for you! We will delve deeper into the technical aspects of photography such as aperture, shutter speed and ISO value. At the 2-day, you will also learn about more advanced topics such as white balance and RAW files, and we will study photos from the first class you took. Led by experienced course leader Emile Verhijden, you will develop your own photographic eye.
What camera do I need?
You can participate with a more elaborate compact camera or a digital SLR. The brand or type is not important, as long as your camera is manually adjustable in terms of aperture, shutter speed, ISO value, etc. A manual with your camera may be helpful. Please contact us if you are in doubt whether your camera is suitable.
I have here written an article if you still want to buy a new camera!
How often?
We plan the course dates of a private course together by mutual agreement. You can choose classes in the morning or afternoon. The 2-day course has an interval of 2-3 weeks, so you have enough time to make your assignments and practice. Of course we look at what your wishes are, maybe you want it faster in a row or you want some more time. Anything goes!
Location:
The course takes place in Bingelrade (between Sittard and Brunssum) at Dorpsstraat 134. The course starts at 9:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. (other times are possible by arrangement). Parking is available in front of the door.
Private course:
We plan the dates for the 1-day intensive private photography course or the 2-day ultimate private photography course together. So that it suits you best!
